Today the TPS counseling program hosted a very special event- a balloon launch to honor Caleb Gaines, a 2nd grader who passed away right before Christmas. Students who were in K, 1st, and 2nd grades with Caleb wrote notes to attach to helium balloons, which we then released into the sky to send up to Caleb. We also wrote down our memories of Caleb, and presented them to his family in a book. WVUA came out to videotape the event! They broadcast a short segment on their 6pm local news tonight. Huge thanks to Food World, who was generous enough to discount the balloons for us. It was wonderful to see Caleb's family and share this special moment with them, and I am also grateful for all the parents, staff, and students who participated so meaningfully... y'all made this event truly special!
