2nd Graders Visit Englewood
The 2nd graders went over to Englewood today to visit 3rd grade classrooms, tour the school, and see the 3rd graders put on a musical performance. This is one of the ways we assist our students with the transition from TPS to the upper elementary grades. Seeing the friendly faces of the 3rd grade teachers seemed to help our kids get excited about the move. The computer lab, rock-climbing wall, gym, and musical performance were also big hits! Most 2nd grade classes had the chance to ask the 3rd graders questions when we visited their classrooms, and some of the 3rd grade classes presented our kids with cute bookmarks or notes to welcome them. Overall it was a fun and informative outing. If you have a 2nd grader, I hope it was helpful in easing their worries about 3rd grade and giving them some things to look forward to next year! Thank you for all you did to avoid absences and tardies for a field trip this large!
