1st Grade Safe Child Lessons Finale
For 1st Grade Parents: Back in mid-January, I sent you a letter about the Safe Child lessons that were starting in 1st grade. This Friday and through the two weeks after spring break, I'll be facilitating the fourth and final lesson in all 1st grade classes. That means your child gets to bring home "goodies" to share with you to reinforce their learning! Each student will bring home a little blue or orange "What If...?" booklet that encourages them to think through hypothetical situations and practice their responses. You'll also get a cool fold-out safety rules page that is perfect for hanging on the fridge or sharing with the whole family, especially with summer right around the corner. They'll bring home a handout on which they've circled trusted adults who they can go to for help if they need it. Finally, students will get a little gold-colored certificate that says they completed the Safe Child program and reviews the main points of what they learned. I'll see Miss Durrett's class Friday, and all other classes the two weeks after spring break. If you have any questions or comments, please let me know! Have a wonderful spring break!
