2nd Grade Career Day- Volunteers Needed!

We are planning a “Career Day” for our 2nd graders on Friday, October 21, and the main attraction will be guest speakers from various careers who have volunteered to tell the students about their jobs. We are currently looking for these volunteers! Would YOU be willing to come speak to 2nd graders about your profession? We'd love to have any and all jobs represented and 2nd graders are a pretty easygoing audience, so please do not be feel shy about volunteering! :) 

Scheduling depends on how many speakers volunteer, but presentations will probably be 20 minutes long. So, a speaker might do the same presentation 4-5 times for different groups of children. However, if you have scheduling constraints that would require a different plan, I am happy to work around them. In my experience with previous volunteers, the 20 minutes usually goes much faster than you think it will, especially if you allow time for questions or a hands-on activity.

If you have a child in 2nd grade, you should receive a yellow letter today with a form you can use to sign up as a Career Day volunteer. If you have a student in K or 1, please let me know if you think you may want to volunteer so I can send home a copy of that yellow page in your child's backpack.
