I got word that Hospice of West Alabama is once again offering their "Camp Daybreak," which is a one-day camp for children ages 6-13 who have experienced the loss of someone close to them. It will take place Saturday, October 1, from 9:00am to noon. The goal of the camp is to help children develop the skills they need to deal with their grief and successfully adapt to life after the loss. The camp is free, but pre-registration is necessary. You can register by calling 523-0101. Even if your child cannot attend the camp this year, you may want to check out the other grief counseling services offered by the Sunrise Center at the Hospice. I believe they have counseling for both children and adults, and they specialize in grief. Their website is http://www.hospiceofwestalabama.com/
Thanks for reading! We are glad you are here!
