Summer Program & Parenting Line

I received flyers for PAL, which is a Parenting Assistance Line set up by the University of Alabama and several other organizations and agencies. PAL is for anyone who wants support and information to become a more confident parent. Kids don't come with instruction manuals! Parenting can be really tough, and PAL is trying to provide helpful assistance to anyone raising a child from birth through adolescence. Callers can also request literature about a specific problem or concern. All calls are free, confidential, and anonymous. The hotline is open Monday - Friday, 8am - 8pm, and the number is 1-866-962-3030. If you would like me to send a flyer home with your child, please let me know!

Also, we just recently got the information for Kidz Kollege summer classes at Shelton State. They gave us just a few pamphlets so I do not have enough to send home, but you can view the brochure here:

The classes run from July 9-26, Monday - Thursday, and are all held in the afternoons. Each session is 1.5 hours. They offer a number of different classes for kids ages 4-16 and grades K-10, including reading, study skills, math, art, cooking, creative writing, and computer skills. Each course costs $155. You can see more details about which classes are offered to which ages and how to register in the brochure linked above. If you have questions, call 391-2323.

Thanks for reading! We are glad you are here!
