Science Outreach

When I interviewed a UA scientist for the career video clips I showed during 2nd grade lessons, I learned that her graduate students do outreach projects at elementary schools. We scheduled amphibian/reptile presentations for this past Thursday, and 14 classes were able to participate in the day-long event. Our TPS students loved seeing and even touching live snakes, frogs, toads, and salamanders! A few pictures are below. I am thrilled that I happened to find a professor who is community service-oriented! Students from this professor's lab also planted some gardens at TPS at the beginning of the school year.
