Exciting news! Our area finally has a support group for parents of children with ADHD! The new group is called SWADD (South and West Alabama Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Support Group) and one of our very own TPS parents is co-founding it. The group's first meeting is September 14th at 6:00pm, in Room 102 of the First United Methodist Church (800 Greensboro Avenue). SWADD's website is http://swadd.org, and you can link to their Facebook page from there. By the end of this coming week, I will have brochures with more information about the group's first meeting. If you'd like one, please let me know and I will send it home in your child's backpack. I will also put some brochures on the counter in the school's front office. I am thrilled to have a support group for parents of children with ADHD right here in town. It is fantastic to have a local resource on a topic that is relevant to so many families!
