"Treats for Troops" This Week!

Just a reminder that our "Treats for Troops" service project is this week, November 1-5! We are collecting letters and cards for US soldiers stationed abroad, along with any Halloween candy that your child would like to "donate" from his or her stash to send to our troops. The best ones to send are those that don't melt, like fruit-flavored candy, hard candy, lollipops, or fruit roll-ups. On Friday, November 5, we'll honor our troops and celebrate the end of our project by wearing camouflage or military colors like navy blue, olive green, khaki, brown, gray, etc. Thank you for your support of this and all our character education and community connection initiatives!

Also, my UA intern, Miss Laura Robinson, finished up her hours with us this past Friday, so you and your students will no longer see her with me in the halls, classrooms, and my office. She said that she will miss TPS and our students a lot, and that we were the best of her three counseling placements! Of course I wasn't surprised, since we have such fantastic students, families, teachers, and staff here at TPS. :) Thank you and your children for making her feel so welcome here!
