K-2 Girls' Friendship Skills

I know I said my next post would be about consequences, but I got word about an organization that specializes in girls' friendship skills and wanted to share it in a timely manner due to a "teleclass" they are offering this Tuesday. So, if you are looking forward to reading about some alternatives to spanking, my next post will cover those, and I apologize for the delay!

The organization is called A Way Through, and I share it with you cautiously because I have not dealt with them yet, so I cannot endorse or vouch for them. Their link below outlines 5 skills we can teach our daughters and female students to address the friendship issues and emotional bullying that often concern us among girls. At first glance, the skills certainly seem valid and reasonable to me!

1. Self-Trust
2. Decision-Making
3. Assertiveness
4. Bullying Refusal
5. Conflict Resolution

Click here to see the webpage with full explanations of those 5 skills.

The webpage also has a link to register for a free "teleclass" these folks are offering this Tuesday 11/16, from 3:30 - 4:15pm. Now, normally I would not mention anything on this blog that I couldn't vouch for personally, but I decided to let you know about the teleclass before I experience it myself so that you wouldn't miss the opportunity if you are interested. I truly hope it is not useless or some sort of scam, but I can offer no guarantees, so use your best judgment. :) I did sign myself up, so we'll all be in the same boat if it turns out to be a dud! I figured that the hope of gaining strategies for girls' friendship troubles that concern me outweighed the risk of wasting 45 minutes or being added to an email spam list... hopefully I made the right decision!

The website told me to include this blurb when sharing their information: Female friendship experts Jane Balvanz and Blair Wagner publish A Way Through, LLC’s Guiding Girls ezine. If you’re ready to guide girls in grades K – 8 through painful friendships, get your FREE mini audio workshop and ongoing tips now at www.AWayThrough.com.
